Hole #9 at Cedar CrestTalk about your daunting tee shots! Left is no good at all, since there is OB running down the entire left side of the hole. Right is no good... splash! You have to hit your tee shot down the middle here. Some big hitters may want to take a run at airmailing the pond, but this is a big risk/reward type gamble. If you hit it through the fairway, you could wind up OB and there is also OB right. However, if you can keep it dry and in play, you will have a wedge in your hand. Most people will be playing their approach shots from about 170 yards or so. It is an uphill approach shot over water, but it opens up towards the green, which has a few mounds around it. There are not many issues around this green, so you should be able to get up and down. The green is pretty large, receptive, slopes gently from back to front, and is two-tiered. You should not have any putts that break significantly, unless you have to putt across the slope between the tiers. Even that slope isn't terribly drastic. |
