Hole #12 at Cedar Crest

This green is within reach off the tee with driver, but there's all kinds of problems down by the green. The better choice is to pull a short to mid iron out of the bag and leave yourself a wedge yardage into the green. This fairway is littered with trees down both sides, and losing one in some thick stuff is not rare if you're errant off the tee.

The fairway slopes down from left to right, so more often than not you will have a stance with your ball below your feet. Also, you will most likely be faced with an uphill approach. The green is surrounded by trees, the most notable of which is a group of trees short and right. Also, There's a 5' deep ditch short and left.

This two-tiered green is narrow, but it is pretty deep. Both the upper and lower tiers are mostly flat. The slope between the tiers is steep. Find the correct tier on your approach, and you will have a good chance to run one in for birdie.
